Lately, as the relationship between Korea and Japan is frequent and the current issues are accumulated, it is more urgent to identify the history of relation between two countries. Because it is important to reflect on past historical facts in order to  promote reconciliation between two countries and establish the future-oriented partnership. However, collecting, organizing and translation of historical materials about this problem should be preceded first to explain the history of relation between two countries being lasted about 2,000 years.
This book is consisted of historical materials collected and organized the main articles related to Japan and Korea for about 2,000 years from ancient times to modern opening port period. Professor Son, Seung-cheol of Kangwon university collected and organized about 20,000 articles of relationship between Korea and Japan contained in basic Korean historical materials and then re-organized them in chronological order. Total 32 volumes, 29 with translated and original materials including 3 with chronology and index, composes this series.
There contain total 19,543 cases in this series - 91 cases in Samguksagi (三國史記), 15 cases in Samgungnyusa(三國遺事), 687 cases in Goryeosa(高麗史), 581 cases in Goryeosajeoryo(高麗史節要), 18,543 cases in Joseonwangjo-sillok(朝鮮王朝實錄). Each of these cases is a living record for the relationship between Korea and Japan and this series also can let us know the issue between two countries for the past 2,000 years.
